VOLUNTEER > PAVILION PARTNERS > Performing Arts Volunteer

Event volunteers are the first point of contact to visitors attending contemporary and performing arts events at The Pavilion. As a performing arts volunteer, you can help with pre-concert activities, Children's Festival and educational outreach programs. It is not necessary to be an event volunteer to volunteer at performing arts events, but you must pass a background check and be a current Partners member. Check out the many opportunities to volunteer at performing arts events below.

The Partners Instrument Petting Zoo, sponsored by Music & Arts, is a free pre-concert activity that takes place prior to most performing arts events. The ever-popular Instrument Petting Zoo gives children a chance to become more involved by experiencing the fun side of the performing arts. Kids can see, touch and play violins, trombones, flutes and various percussion instruments providing them with a broader understanding of an orchestra performance.

Click here for more information on the Instrument Petting Zoo.

The Partners Arts and Crafts booth is a chance for children to experience the performing arts through crafts. At performing arts concerts, Partners have a craft project for the children that directly relate to that evening's performance.

Other pre-concert activities
There are several other pre-concert activities performing arts volunteers can help with including manning the Tommy Bahama "Best Seats in the House" Register-to-Win and the Give Where You Live booth as well as assisting with special activities like an ice cream social.

Help transform The Pavilion into a magical world of wonder and excitement for kids of all ages. This four-day festival features nationally acclaimed children's entertainers, hands-on activities and performances by local arts organizations. Partners can help plan the festival by serving on the committee or simply volunteering to work the event.
Educational Outreach Header
The Pavilion has emerged as a vital link in exposing large numbers of children to the performing arts through numerous educational outreach programs. More than 40,000 students and families participate in programs such as Musical Scores, Fine Arts Education Day, Music in Motion and Texas Music Festival Orchestra every year. Partners volunteers can be a part of the magic of these events by volunteering a few hours of your time for each program.
